Directions to a Fisherman's Paradise!
Hwy 395 is the main artery running north and south through California's Eastern Sierra Nevada. No matter where you begin, you'll use Hwy 395 to access June Lake. It's a beautiful drive. Be sure to enjoy the many points of interest along the way. Once you get get past Mammoth Lake coming north or Lee Vining coming south look for the June Lake Turnoff. Silver Lake is just four miles beyond the community of June Lake.

Orange County, San Bernardino and San Diego, take I-15 north over the Cajon Pass toward Victorville. Take Hwy 395 through Ridgecrest, north to Bishop and on to Mammoth.

Los Angeles, Simi Valley, San Fernando Valley and the Beach Cities
, take I-5 north to State Route 14 which will take you through Mojave and intersect with Hwy 395 . Head north to Bishop and
on to Mammoth.

San Francisco, Sacramento, the Delta, Stockton
You have several options and all involve crossing the Sierra. You take Hwy 50 to 89, south to 88 and south to Hwy 395 in Minden or Hwy 395 near Topaz via Markleville. You can cross the Sierra on Hwy 88 off Hwy 99 through Jackson, past Kirkwood over the Carson Pass and on to Minden and Hwy 395, or through Markleville to Hwy 395 near Topaz.

Sonora, you can get over the Sierra on Hwy 4, to Hwy 89 to Hwy 395. Or you can take Hwy 108 over Sonora Pass to Hwy 395. These roads are closed during the winter. Once at the Hwy 395 junction, head south towards Bridgeport and Lee Vining.

San Joaquin Valley (Fresno, Merced, Tulare, Visalia, Madera) take Hwy 41 or Highway 140 to Hwy 120 in Yosemite that will take you through the park to Lee Vining. At Lee Vining, turn right on Hwy 395 to June Lake. There is a $20 fee to cross through Yosemite. The fee is good for seven days. You can purchase an annual pass for $50.

Bakersfield take either Highway 178 along the Kern River to Highway 14, or Highway 58 though the Techappi Mountains to Highway 14. From Highway 14 turn to north toward Bishop, past Mammoth Lakes to the June Lake Turnoff.

Reno/Carson City/ Lake Tahoe, take Hwy 395 south, past Topaz Lake and along the Walker River past Bridgeport and Lee Vining.

Mammoth Lakes, take State Route 203 to Hwy 395 north the June Lake Turnoff.

Death Valley, take Hwy 190 past Panamint Springs to Hwy 136 which ends at Hwy 395. Head north toward Bishop, past Mammoth to the June Lake Turnoff.
Bishop, take Hwy 395 north past Mammoth Lakes to the June Lake Turnoff.

Lee Vining, take Hwy 395 south to the June Lake Turnoff.

Santa Barbara and Ventura, take Hwy 101 to State Route 126 to Hwy 5. Go south towards Los Angeles to Hwy 14. Continue on Hwy 14 through Mojave and Red Rock Canyon to where it merges with Hwy 395.
Go north to Bishop, past Mammoth Lakes to the June Lake Turnoff.

Yosemite and Toulumne Meadows, take State Route 120 to Hwy 395. Turn right and look for the June Lake Turnoff.
